Some quick tips to understand what makes the shop suspicous:

  • Bad and cheap design.
  • The websites have one thing in common. They all look the same, most content has been copied from trustable websites.
  • Stolen product photos. Search on google for the product photos. Most of the time you will find the real ones or from other fake shops. 🙂
  • Fake address and (or no) reviews.
  • Basically it’s impossible to find out the physical location of the office or warehouse. (there are no return addresses or phone number)
  • Spelling mistakes in the content
  • The payment goes through personal payment accounts instead of reliable payment providers.
  • There are images of creditcard companies like visa and mastercard, but you can’t pay with cards.
  • Common payment methods that are used are: western union, zelle, cash app.
  • Most faker cowboys use online chat. If you ask some questions about for example a return address they will not give it to you.
  • Read reviews from different pages, online forums and search engines.
  • Check the company’s social media pages for information. Be aware that reviews can also be fake. For example, if there is a similarity in the reviews across several websites, or the same users are commenting, be suspicious.

What to do if I am scammed?
You will problably not go to the police, because you have been trying to buy psychedelics online.

But there are some things you can do:
- Notify the fraud desk of the payment provider they use
- Notify the Domain Name Registrar company and let them know it's an illegal business
- In case they use a company like Cloudflare. Notify Cloudflare as well. (look for ns.cloudflare.com in the name server)

For example: Let's take a look at: buyshrooms.org (which is fake as f) https://who.is/whois/buyshrooms.org

There products have zero reviews.
The photo's are stolen from legit stores in Europe.
There is not much content.
They try to convince you it's a secure website, but real shops have a real address and have a real phone number.

Let's take a look at the WHOIS information and do a whois search on the domain:
As you can see, they hide their contact details in the Domain Registration. That's already a red flag.
